ProDictate is a professional modular dictation and document management solution which enables digital dictation and speech recognition in Citrix environments. With its new development Devacon GmbH has set a milestone for USB support of digital dictation devices and footpedals in a Citrix session. This new development enables editing audio files and control of USB devices via virtual channels.

The ProDictate USB driver has to be installed on the PC. There it passes information via TCP/IP through the virtual channel of the ICA session to the terminal server.

By operating the footpedal or pressing the digital dictation device's control keys, informations are transmitted to ProDictate (which is installed on the terminal server) in order to control the ProDictate multimedia recorder.

There is no need to adjust the Citrix server and the application software during the installation. This enables a smooth migration without time and money consuming reconfiguration of already installed servers. The ProDictate USB drivers are installed after the successful installation of the Citrix clients. The three files, which are delivered to the customer, are copied into the Citrix installation folder and the USB devices can be used right away,

Using the Internet Explorer interface for dictation and document creation means for an enterprise a progressive deployment of software tools and a fast connection of USB hardware to PCs and thin clients.

The setup of a working environment for dictation or transcription, which until now always meant a considerable amount of work for a company's IT section, is from now on performed by merely connecting the USB devices. Hardware drivers and sound card issues at the employeeŽs working environment belong now to the past.
